OLE Link Error - Swimapi.kpr file and Swimapiex.exd file corrupted

Some of my users randomly getting a message saying "Unable to successfully create OLE Links between application and parent programs"  We delete the APC folder that has the Swimapi.kpr and the Swimapiex.exd in it that I understand may get corrupted.  What would cause these 2 files to get corrupted?  Are the users doing something to make this happen?

Did deleting the folder (files) correct the issue?  Also, what are the users doing when they get the error?  Finally, what version of SL are you on?

These files are used when SL loads screen customizations on a customized screen.

Yes deleting the folder(files) corrects the issue. They get them as far as we can tell on customized screens.  We are using SL 2011.  My issue is I want to fix the problem permanently so we can work more efficiently without the delays of not being able to proceed in Dynamics until the files are deleted.  This happens frequently enough for us that it is frustrating for our users.  I'd like to find the root cause and fix it.  Any ideas on a permenat fix?

Patti, I am running SL 7 SP3 and have similar issues. Users intermittantly get this OLE Link error. We have been getting these since the upgrade from SL 6. I have been searching for an answer to this issue for years now. I had a user tell me this happens to them 20 times a day and this is not acceptable. My BP has no answers but suggests it's related to my environment. I have a few questions about your environment if you don't mind and maybe we can find a solution.

    What OS are you running?

Are you running RDSH or TS?

    Are you running Citrix?

Are you using remote profiles or folder redirection?

    What Anti-Virus are you running?

Does this happen for people with administrative rights to the local machine or just users.

I have been pushing for an upgrade to 2011 to solve this issue but if you have this on 2011 then I don't know what to do about Solomon.
