Please enter a valid tax registration number

Im getting the Please enter a valid tax registration number error message as detailed in the below kb. However, I am on GP 2015 (14.00.0952 R2) - is anyone aware of a permanent fix for this issue in this build? Ive checked the registration number is valid and is entered correctly in GP without the country prefix and spaces.
