Job queue automatically stops - reason unknown

Hi all,

For couple of our clients, we have configured job queues and they are working perfectly doing the expected job.

But often, these job queues (all of them) stop automatically. We do not know the reason. 

Checking NAS - other services - these we have done. We did not come across any issue in these.

And this happens for 2 of our clients - both are in NAV 2016 - but different CUs.

Client : 1    9.0.51234.0

Client : 2    9.0.51775.0

Has any body come across this issue before? What should be check for to be able to identify the issue?

    Hi,

    I would start checking the below points:

    1. First look at the event viewer, see what the actual error means. Sometimes it's disconnection on a network or permission or popup that occurs in coding.

    2. Backups are the main issue, you may have different backups occurring and not notice when it starts or completes.

    3. Virus scans sometimes lock files when writing it's a problem.

    4. Make sure you have no Locks on tables when another job queue is executed.

    5. Sometimes backup and restore it to a test server and execute it manually to see if any error appears.

    6. It might be that the connection was lost to the SQL Server for some reason.
