Command button "New" in NewGroup (Button Group) of List Page

Hi,

I am creating a List Page form. My list page is a simple one.  So in the Action pane, I do not need a menuitembutton to create a new record. instead I just need a New command button so that a new line gets created and I can fill the contents in it.

So I added a New command button in the "NewGroup" button group. When I open the form, it is grayed out.

The visible property is set to YES. Still it is grayed out.

Could some one please help me how to make the New command button visible in form?

Thanks,

Lakshmi

Thanks for the info Sohaib. It would have been easy if there was  a work around but I do understand that templates only work the way they are set.

it would not work in this way,

List pages are supposed to have a new dialog or a new form on creation of new record.

    A new form should open

So adding a command button here is not worth

instead add a menu item, that may refer to new form, which will be responsible to create new record in your list page

for you inspiration, have a look at any existing list page.

none of those will allow you to add record directly in grid.

if you crate forms using templates, you can get a clear picture of needed direction
