We are looking to put a few solutions on the marketplace, however some of them have common components (resources such as jquery plugins, graphics, etc). If someone were to want to install two of our solutions what would be the best way to package these solutions so that no duplication of resources or conflicts occur? Also any recommendations on install process?

I have the same question (0)You need to make them into separate standalone managed solutions. This way the users would import the solution and your customizations would be imported into the database and the user wouldn't be able to edit them.
I'm not certain but I think if you import the same file in two solutions then it will overwrite the file and maybe just keep one copy of it.
Even if it did import a few files twice if a customer had two of your solutions the files would take up such a small amount of space I don't think this is really a concern.
