If you setup a bank account in Business Central with a specific currency code other then your local currency then you can only do transactions to that bank account in that assigned currency.
If you have a bank account in your local currency then that bank account will accept transactions in any currency because the balance of the account will constantly show in local currency and the transactions will always be posted using a currency rate.
You can define as many bank accounts as you want. It is not uncommon for a company to have different bank accounts for different currencies in addition to the bank accounts in LCY.
