CRM On premise License Guidence

Dear Team,

I have installed CRM 2016 On premise in Client Server with MSDN Subscription License Key for CRM 2016. So i got the Professional, Basic and Essential Licenses and assigned to all the Users.

So what my question is the User with Professional License has full permissions on the CRM Core Modules i.e Sales, Marketing and Service.

The User with Basic License also has some permissions to view some of the System Entities.

The User with Essential License has only the permissions for Activities and Custom Entities. But when i login with the User with Essential License having the Security Role as Sales Person, he was having the Sales, Marketing and Service module access.

How this is working, as per the License guide the Essential User will not have the Modules Access but still i am able to see and do the operations for these modules.

Can anyone please explain how it will work for On premise.

Thank you.

    Hi,

CRM will not 'enforce' the different license types.  So when you change a user from professional to essential or basic, nothing is enforced.

You are responsible to known what each license type entitles the user to use and purchase accordingly.  Here are a couple links for the different types of licenses and what's entitled:
