Hi,

I can see some customized roles created in my organization like below (under Sys Admin :Users : Assign roles):

They all look same, how can I check what each of these roles does?

What is the condition used behind these.

Regards
Snm

    Hi SNM,

In security roles page, you could search these roles and check their duties and privileges.

And related privileges for these duties can be edited in security privileges form.

    Hi QianQW,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

If you see below there are same roles name, differentiated with some suffix (eg: AISC, BHSM)

    These are contract specific.

I need to know where are we giving this condition that if we choose role with suffix AISC, then user should have permission for AISC contract only.

You can see it from Record level security. I Don't think so there should be any condition based on role name or suffix.

You can go to System administration >> setup >> Security >> Record level security >> you can select the role and click on query to check what condition defined for each role.

There are no records in Record level security.

    Hi SNM,

In addition, you can use the Security Development Tool to get insights in the role contents. You can download the tool from the Downloadable Tools section on LCS: lcs.dynamics.com/.../

Some additional tips for this tool can be found on my blog: dynamicspedia.com/.../

If your last question is about restricting records in certain tables, you can achieve this with eXtensible Data Security. I have also written some blogs on this part of the security framework: dynamicspedia.com/.../

It might be implemented already, but you then need to verify if there are security policies created in your environment.

    Hi SNM,

in order to know what each role do in details you can check the "security roles" form from path : System administration -> setup -> security -> security roles.

then to check each duty what it contain you can open the AOT then from "security" -> "roles" search for the requested role check its duties and open this duties to check what it contain from tables and views etc.. .

    Regards,

    Pola
