Add existing records to subgrid

Hi all,

Within our Quote entity in CRM I'd like to be able to show the related Customer Assets.

As there could be more than one related Asset per quote, i think a sub-grid might be the best way to do this.

However, there is currently no relationship between the two.

I have created a N:N relationship, and placed a sub-grid on the Quote entity.

Within the sub-grid the Data Source settings are:

Records : Only Related Records

Entity : Customer Assets

Default View : Active Customer Assets

My problem is that I don't get the 'add existing' button on the sub-grid, so I can't look up an asset.

In fact, I don't get any 'Add...' button at all. All I see in the sub-grid is 'no data available'

I've read that to enable the 'add existing' button, the primary field in the lookup entity should be set as 'Business Recommended' or 'Optional', however, this is not an option for me. This field must be mandatory.

Have I configured this wrong? or is there another way to do this?

I have the same question (0)

Thanks Goutam, i had all the same settings as you but it still wasn't working... i then realised it was because i was trying to add them to an already Active quote (which when Active is read only).

I created a new quote and then got the option to add the assets :)
