You cannot change view column name in a supported way. If you change the Display Name of the field, the View will reflect that change.

    Hi Ahmad ,

As  already suggested above ,, there is no way to change the view column name. The only way is to change the field display name .

thanks , i know that, but this does not help especially that my view contains columns from different related entities and the column name becomes too long and not suitable for business to see.

i am sure there is a way using webreource.

You can definitely build a web resource that renders a custom view. You will have to use Web Api Retrieve Multiple to get the records based on the query you define. And you can then display the results with your own column headers and stuff. This requires more custom code but gives you flexibility to build what you want.

Once you got the web resource ready, you can have a link to that view on Sitemap Tile or Sub area depending on where you want

Note : Negative side to building custom view is that you will lose all the loads to Out of the box features like sorting, filtering and other.

In a supported way you can only use Web Resource on a View to display icons and tooltips for a column data

    Hope this helps

    Hi Ahmad ,

Are you talking about OOB grid ? OOB grid its not possible , however you can use  custom HTML where implement custom third party grid like easyUI like www.jeasyui.com/.../datagrid.php

    or custom HTML table .

In that case you need to retrieve data using REST API  and bind the data to the grid .

    dear all

can i remove the related object name from the column name in the view, because this is making the column name so long and so confusing.

    for example :

    2019_2D00_02_2D00_17-13_5F00_32_5F00_14_2D00_Goals-Statistics-HS_2D00_Goals-by-Salesman-_2D00_-Microsoft-Dynamics-365.png

    Hi Ahmad,

Its an out of the box column name given by CRM for any field added to the view from the related entities. This cannot be changed or ore removed.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Ahmad ,

This is by design , so that user can identify from where/which entity the data coming from.

Work around would be to set column width accordingly if you want to hide large text in the column.
