workflow/change management approval processes for PO

I have a client that wants to setup and use the standard PO approval workflow in BC 16 which I know how to setup and use. However the client also wants to be able to add a freight line to the released approved PO without having it go though the whole approval process. Is there something in the approval process/setup that can be setup to allow a specific user to add the freight line?

I greatly appreciate any suggestions or solution.

It would be a modification. Seen a similar requirement in the past. You could use the event subscriber for when a document is released to then reopen it and add a line before releasing it again all in code to bypass the approval process. Or you could create a new response step which is again a modification. The response can then be slotted into the current PO workflow.
