Why PO workflow auto reject assign to originator for approval?

Hii,

In our Purchase Order workflow I have an Auto Reject condition and it is working fine.

If the workflow is Auto Rejected, it goes to the Workflow Originator as I set and its ok, but workflowf is still in Pending state, it do not reject. In workflow history it shows Auto reject condition met but status pending.

And the workflow originator see all options like (Approve, Reject, Request Change etc) from Workflow Actions, that I dont want. If he Approves workflow then wf is approved.  Workflow should be rejected without originator input.

Here is my workflow...

There is no 2nd condition to check

    Hi,

This setup will not trigger auto-reject. Instead it will send it to workflow originator to get approval. Exactly the way you don't want it to work :)

    The setup says:

If there is a line which has an empty item number or an empty category then auto-reject. If else, assign it to workflow originator to approve. There won't be a purchase order line which has no item number specified, and seems like category value is not empty either. So, it is working fine according to the setup.

You can try changing your auto reject condition to "If created date time is later than January,1st, 1900" for example.

Also, in your project, there should be a person who is responsible of maintaining workflows. Please choose his/her user as workflow owner in basic setups of your workflow. Then assign the approval step of this auto-reject element (The one that says  "Workflow originator" in your current setup) and fix the message to explain that there is something wrong with the setup, so it needs to be checked. Since when you give the createddatetime>01.01.1900 condition, it should never go to approval step. Just in case if someone changes that condition, it will go to workflow owner and notify, so they can take proper action immediately.

    Hii,

Just noticed that for few workflows that met auto reject condition.

The workflow status is Rejected if it met auto reject condition and its ok, but still it is assigned to the Originator of the workflow

    to take some action.

Means the workflow status is Rejected but in workflow history showing status Pending and assigned to the Originator of the workflow.  What we want is once workflow is Rejected by auto reject condition or by some approval authority, it should not go to workflow originator for further approval.

    Thanks,

    Hi Rana,

Could you share screenshots of your setup? I will also do such a setup and try to experience the situation you are in.
