Add a table to the "Connected To" List

Posted on by 6
I have a new custom entity called /Reasons/ I'd like to use to make connections. I have already enabled it to make connections. I have also set up Connection Roles for this entity, to and from the Opportunity entity. From a /Reason/ record, I can make connects to records from any of 18 tables (including opportunity). However, I cannot do the reverse -- make a connection from an Opportunity record. Hoping I just missed a step here!

I would like to:
1. From an Opportunity, be able to select this entity and create a connection to any of it's records
2. (nice to have) limit the entities that are available when making connections from the /Reason/ table

From Opportunities:
18 tables are available to connect to:

My custom entity /Reasons/ is not one of them:

However, I can make the connections from the reason side, as Opportunities is still one of the 18 tables available:
Once the connection is created this way, it does show on the opportunity:
I do not want users to have to navigate away from the opportunity to do this.

Thanks in advance!

    Thanks for the help Haig!

My custom entity did have records, but I created them using a subgrid from the opportunity instead of adding them directly to the entity. Once I added 1 directly, this table became available.

    Hi,

I did a lot of testing and found only one scenario that reproduces your problem:
It occurs when there is not any record in the entity that needs to be connected.
No Goal record, only 15 types of records.
If I create a Goal record, it becomes 16 types and Goal is visible.

In summary: Connections will show all records for all connectable entities, as long as the entity has connections enabled and is added to this model-driven application.
