Demand Forecast

Somehow when I input my demand forecast and then run the planning worksheet, the MRP just did not pick up my forecast demand for the item. It however could pick up the sales order for that item. Any idea what could be wrong with my setting? My planning parameters are as follows for the item.

    CYC,

For the Item in question, can you send me the Replenishment Tab so I can see. Also, your Forecast, is it on the Sales Item, Component, or Both? I want to see what you entered and then reply back. One last thing, when you run MRP, what was your options set?

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Hi Steve

Once again, thank you for responding.

    Here is the Replenishment Tab.

    Ran the Planning Worksheet...

MRP only gave me the end product for Prod Order for the quantity that was still short of the Sales Order. It did not pick up the demand forecast.

    CYC,

OK, let me do the same example in my Cronus Sandbox...

Item - 1150 is a Production Order and has 2 components in the BOM 1151 and 1155. No inventory for any of the items currently.

    pastedimage1614087148605v1.png

My 1150 Replenishment Tab looks like yours and the components look like the below:

    pastedimage1614087247133v2.png pastedimage1614087277429v3.png

Note that my Planning Fast Tab I have setup some parameters which will be used in Planning and you should have too, based on what you need.

    pastedimage1614087367099v5.png

Created a forecast for my 1150 Item (Sales Item):

    pastedimage1614090510985v8.png

Run Planning Worksheet with MPS (Prod. Order) and MRP (Purchase Order) set and with my forecast:

    pastedimage1614094203022v9.pngpastedimage1614094248703v10.png

I get both Prod. Order and Purchase.

Look over what I am sending and test again.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Steve

Once again, thank you so much for giving the guidance. I repeated the same thing in another company and managed to have the the demand forecast to work. Thank you once again.

    RE: Demand Forecast

    Hi Steve.

I have followed your examples above and can generate the expected results in the planning worksheet in the demo company.

However, in a production company, the calculate plan only seems to pick up demand from actual sales orders and not from a demand forecast, even though I have selected the forecast on the Calculate Plan page.

Any ideas of what I could be missing?

    Thanks

    Mat,

On the Planning Worksheet/Calculate... on the Options page are you excluding any Forecast date range that includes the forecasted demand?

    Thanks,

    Steve

    RE: Demand Forecast

    Steve,

    Thanks for the feedback.

I have entered demand forecast for Aug to Oct 2021, for example below:

    pastedimage1628043814464v3.png

On the Calculate Plan - Options, I have start date as 1 Aug and end date as 31 Oct. The Exclude date is 31 July 2021

No Filters applied to Item nor Location

    pastedimage1628043558271v2.png

    Does this look correct?

    Nothing gets picked up

    Mat,

The Demand Forecast pic shows NO Location Code. Add a Location Code and then rerun.

    Thanks,

    Steve

    Thanks Steve

I updated the Demand Forecast to be by location and ran the Calc with and without a location filter. Neither produced any results.

    Any other ideas?

    RE: Demand Forecast

    Mat,

I am thinking and nothing comes to mind. My tests and Forecast work each time so I am stumped what is causing yours to exclude the Forecast. Why the Sandbox works and not PROD makes this more frustrating.

    Let me think more....

    Steve
