An AP team member is attempting to create a new vendor and add an address, but the error occurs when adding the address. This functionality worked correctly until the previous workday; however, the error appeared suddenly the next day.

When using the System Administrator role, there are no issues adding the address. The problem only occurs with the Vendor Maintain role. We created a new privilege for the Vendor Maintain role, but the error still persists. Any thoughts?

I cannot find a role named Vendor Maintain or Maintain Vendor (or any role with a similar name).
However, there are many duties with names starting with Maintain vendor, such as Maintain vendor master.

This makes me wonder, does the user have a customized security role?

Could you please check the role assigned to the user?

In terms of providing the fix: since this is an AOS-authorized field, you need to explicitly mention the field access, as it may contain sensitive data.

Go to the related security role

Choose the Tables node (located at the very bottom)

If the table is not already listed, use Add > Reference to add it

Then, add a further reference for the specific field and grant read access to that field

If you do not want to make this manual change, make sure the user's role has access to one of the following privileges:

Yes vendor maintain is a customized role for our company and it is assigned to the user.

AOS authorization is set as yes.

The privilege you showed in the screenshot, do i need to create them in fastpath and assign to the Vendor Maintain role? I have these previleges as of right now for the vendor maintain role.

Hi,

The privileges shared by Sohaib don't necessarily contain menu items. The error is about missing permissions on a field. The field is marked as sensitive. This is part of the Table Permissions Framework (TPF) in the Dynamics 365 F&O security architecture. For that reason the menu item permissions only are not sufficient. It needs additional table permissions. You can read more about TPF on my blog: Securing a menu item is not enough - table permissions - Dynamicspedia

You can check in Fastpath if there is support for adding table permissions. If not, you can follow the instructions as mentioned in my blog. Or manually add the view or maintain privilege for vendor sensitive information.

As Andre mentioned, it is not a necessary to add the permission via that ISV (FastPath).

You can directly go into the Dynamics and do the change on the security role (by adding the privileges in the security role)
