I'm aware this control is currently in preview, but would appreciate if anyone had any tips for how to get around this for now.
I added a lookup field to my sub grid that is currently using the Power Apps Grid Control feature.
One is a custom lookup field to the 'Users' table called 'Assigned To'. This is supposed to allow the user to add a lookup from the system users table. But when I select the field, nothing happens. No drop down that allows me to select a user (I'm using a functioning view that should show me the users).
I added the 'Owner' column to the view to investigate how lookups to users work. The system user and initials can be selected and removed (like a string) but again, no option to select others users.
Lookups to other tables work fine on the grid.
My theory is, the profile/initials image beside the user name is not agreeing with the PCF and will not allow user selection.
A workaround would be to create a custom table that replicates the user table and use that as a lookup instead, but feels like unnecessary overhead for such a minor issue.
Would anyone know of any other workarounds? A way to display the lookups without the profile image included? Thanks.
Hi AMD99,
Yes, it seems to be by-design.
And it is preview feature, it isn't supported by Microsoft Support for production use.
Microsoft Support is, however, eager to get your feedback on the preview functionality, and might provide best-effort support in certain cases.
