WHS Max nr of licence plates per location

Hi all, I'd like to specify the max nr of licence plates on the location profile. Purpose: normal bulk locations van contain 1 euro pallet, double deel bulk locations van contain 2 euro pallets. The max weight, max height, max width, max depth cannot be used to limit the nr of pallets on the location.

What about Location stocking limits? Would that work for you?

(it is not exactly the same, as it is based on quantity. So if you specify that it can fit a maximum of 1 PL, that does not mean it will only allow 1 LP there, you could have multiple LPs, if the total qty on them does not go above 1 PL)

Making it restrict specifically on number of pallets, like in WMS II, is not available out of the box

Hi Frans,

In the location directive actions you can specify for the Put the strategy "Empty locations with no incoing work". If you only do the put away for full LPs in those locations that should work.

First of all I had to translate your comment to English to understand what you said. ;) (Thanks to google)

Now coming to answer your question. Yes you can do the same in Dynamics 365 with ease using location stocking limits.

You can setup locations with limits to units, pack size category and items and much more.

Suppose we have a bulk area where we know that maximum 7 pallets can be stored. Now how many license plates you stack over them is flexible but system will not allow anymore pallets that 7 which is a good control,

Now consider this scenario

Location profile setup with locations stocking limit of 7 pallets (So all the locations in this profile can store max of 7 pallets each and this saves me time not to set stocking limits for each location). :)

Purchase order for item D for 11 Pallets

Location directive set to put items to location profile OXOLLOXO 07

Now as I will start receiving the pallets using mobile device Dynamics should suggest me locations automatically and should not allow to put more than 7 pallets in one locations.

Now you can see I am starting to receive 11 pallets all together.

Now as I reach to put screen on the mobile device Dynamics has suggested a location and it is allowing only 7 pallets only as I had done a stocking limit setup above. Next it takes me to another location where I am suggested to put 4 pallets.

In the above screenshots you can see I received 7 pallets in OXOLLOXO 31 location and next 4 pallets in OXOLLOXO 34 location.

Below you have the work screenshot where you can see the same.

The stocking limit can be setup item specific, item variant specific and for container types also.

Its a very flexible way to control location stocking limits.

Hi,

Just note that I have made a very general setting for location stocking limits above setting up that locations OXOLLOXO can only take 7 pallets of any items.

Its easy way to control but if you want you can make the setting item specific also. Item A can max be store 11 pcs in loc D and item B max can be stored 7 pcs only for the same location.
