Multiple Sales Process - Is this an upcoming feature?

I found the thread- https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/106626.aspx

Which was a user asking about multiple sales processes.  This is obviously a much needed feature - otherwise the sales process must be stripped to the bare requirements and thus loses its value as a sales process.

The post was in May - I am hoping that someone has found a way to circumvent this and/or knows of upcoming support for this feature?

Please let me know if you have a solution in mind or something to research myself.

Thanks,

    Hi There,

Definitely you can have more than one sales process. If you have CRM 2011 with Update Roll up 12 or above(Polaris ) or you have CRM 2013 in both cases you can have multiple sales process. You can define Sales process for different users by selecting a security role.

For e.g. I have two users Sales person (with SP security role in CRM) & Sales Manager(SM security role in CRM ) ; i have two Sales processes SP Sales process & SM Sales process. What i will do in CRM, i will assign SM security role to my SM sales process & SP security role to my SP sales process. Now both my users (SM & SP ) will see different sales process.

Sales process in CRM can be created through Business Process Flow; it is out of the box feature.

Thanks Prashant - How do I check what "Update Roll Up" we are currently on?  We use the CRM Dynamics Online.

The only route I have thus far been able to edit the sales process is described here:

    rc.crm.dynamics.com/.../source_sf_edit_new_sales_process.htm

This is obviously in direct contradiction to your statements and thus makes me think we haven't gotten the update yet?

    Hi,

Since you are using CRM Online, definitely your Update Roll up is above 12(Polaris) and Prashant's information would be applicable to you also.

    Thanks,

So that makes me more confused then - I seem to have the older - more basic form of the sales process.  How does one go about manually updating / verifying all is in working order?

Dynamics CRM 2013 (Orion) is being rolled out for all CRM Online users from now until February. I would presume you should already know your upgrade date by now. Because of this I wouldn't worry too much about what CRM 2011 can do and look more towards what 2013 can do.

As Prashant said you can have Multiple Sales Processes. These can be done by user role or users can select between multiple processes if they have permission.

If you haven't already seen CRM 2013 I suggest downloading a trial as it is VERY different to 2011.
