We're in the throes of wanting to push Payroll updates to the D365 FInance GL, where we're being asked to use standard data management module imports into the GL from am Azure BLOB.

Are there any instructions anywhere on how to setup and connect to a BLOB from D365 Finance? If it's material, we're on a Cloud version of Dynamics 10.0.10.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

As far as Im aware, there is no such setup. Here is the documentation for data management docs.microsoft.com/.../data-entities-data-packages

It can guide you through import from files. Can you tell us more about that connection and what do you want to achive?

Thankyou. It’ll probably be easier to give then some space on our BYOD server or another file share and to whitelist them into there.

Hey Ian,

Did you try to use the recurring data integrations feature of the DMF? If you have an Azure storage account, you should be able to leverage this to import the payroll data using recurring integrations.

Also just FYI if you are not aware: Dayforce does provide the GL template out of the box for D365 F&O. You most likely will not need to modify the template, unless there are specific needs.

Excellent, thank you. We have the mappings, just surprised they advised to deploy a blob to carry the aggregated payroll totals by cost centre. When asked, they said to get the instructions from Microsoft - which don't exist as such.

We also are going down this road with onboarding dayforce into d365 hr and f&o. The hr integration was straight forward and well documented. However the f&o seems to be another story.

How did you finally solve the problem, did cerdian come up with any documentation on setup of this type of integration?

Any guidance is appreciated.

Hi Marco,

We ended up just picking up a zip file from Azure Storage Explorer. There is apparently a way if connecting to a BLOB directly but we gave up trying to make it work, and went with a more manual process in the end.
