Create Dexterity chunk - multiple developers using TFS Source Control

We are new to GP/Dexterity still working on "going live" as we are migrating from Oracle EBS.  Our development team consists of 3 developers.  We have setup Dexterity (2015R2) to use Team Foundation Server Express as our source code repository running on SQL Server 2014 Express.

Up to this point the developers have been creating forms in their own local dictionaries and running them on their local workstations.  We are now at the point where we want to generate a chunk file that includes ALL custom resources from our respective dictionaries.  We've received a product ID for our company from Microsoft.

We are 'assuming' we have to create this combined chunk file from our source code repository but we've been unable to figure this out.  I've found some documentation in the Dex integration guide but that talks about the chunking process from a local dictionary - I don't see any information on how to use the repository as the source for the chunk file.

Anyone willing to share ideas/suggestions regarding this process or point me in the direction of some documentation that may help spell out the process?

Thanks.

I'm not sure I know what you've read so far, but here are some bullet notes I took for myself when I was figuring this out a few months back for a very simple DIC I did:

    - IG.pdf: Chapter 1 for basics of developing integrations and setting up the environment.

    - IG.pdf: Part 11 for additional information on the development process.

    - PRGV1.pdf: Part 9 for the details on source control and specifically chapter 53 for the details on building a production dictionary.

    - The following blog post from David Musgrave outlines missing items needed for setting up the development environment:

      winthropdc.wordpress.com/.../developing-using-dexterity-for-microsoft-dynamics-gp-2015

    - DEXUTILS.pdf: The main document on the Dexterity Utilities tool.

Can you confirm you've been through these bits already?

I've been through some of the documents you mention.  The programming guide volume 1 gave some useful info on how to build a dictionary from a shared repository by performing the following:

    1. open a "clean" dictionary template file

    2. Update it from our source code repository by clicking the 'Update' button

    3. Chunking the resulting dictionary which now includes the base Dexterity code and our custom stuff

We've performed these steps but are running into some issues as it appears one of the developers may not have loaded all his resources into the repository.  He's working on getting everything loaded now.

I'll review the other information you outlined here - Thanks.
