Financial Dimension

Posted on by 10

Hi,

When we are having stock count, we are manually entering the values of financial dimension for each item. Does any one knows how to auto fill the financial dimension in counting journal? or where is it located in sql table once the journal has been created?

About "DimensionDefaultingController" take a look at this link https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/axsupport/2016/12/29/work-with-financial-dimensions-ax2012-x/

In INVENTJOURNALTRANS table you can find DefaultDimension field and DEFAULTDIMENSIONVIEW can help you to find combination of financial dimension by DefaultDimension value from INVENTJOURNALTRANS or you can find needed combination in DEFAULTDIMENSIONVIEW and then put the value to DefaultDimension field.

    Hi Rustem,

    Thanks for the reply.

We are planning to do customization on this, I just like to know where the data has been stored on the table. I found item list on INVENTJOURNALTRANS table but for the financial dimension, I cannot find it.

Anyway, I found a view DEFAULTDIMENSIONVIEW, I'm checking it now.

You mentioned "DimensionDefaultingController", can you give more details on this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

    Hi dharlhon12,

You can use the DEFAULTDIMENSION filed in table INVENTJOURNALTRANS to update the financial dimension.

I hope this can help you.

    Hi dharlhon12!

You can specify financial dimensions on the Item or do some customisation to fill the financial dimension.

Why you need to know where is located in sql table? Update AX tables through SQL is not good idea.

The financial dimension is DefaultDimension field that managed by DimensionDefaultingController for display, user interaction, and storage of default dimension values.
