Qualifying Lead - Create Contact

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

Newbie here.

When I qualify a lead, a Contact/Account gets created and certain fields are written back to the other entities.  Can I add a custom drop down field in the lead entity that will copy over during qualifying to the account or contact and how can I do if so?

Appreciate it

    Hi Angelc,

When we click on "Qualify" button on the top of Lead form, CRM will run a WorkFlow background to create Account ,Contact and Opportunity.

Although we could not edit this OOB workflow, we could create another workflow on the update of Lead status updating to "Qualified".

    Please follow the steps bellow.

1.Create a workflow and set the value to related Account/Contact filed.

2.Make sure that the option set field(drop down field) is Global Option Set field so that we could be able to find this field when we set actions in workflow.

you can add field mapping to map fields from lead to Contact/Account using their respective relationships

    Check this for reference
