We need to install the 2017 year-end update due to the Fixed Asset changes that we need. We don't use payroll so don't need that part. However, I was wondering how long does this usually take so we can plan accordingly?

I am assuming everyone needs to be off the system so we can install. Any input is appreciated.

Good answer Ian, this is exactly what we state when asked this in Support.....with so many variables, it is close to impossible to give a estimate on how long an upgrade would take, which why it is always recommended that a test upgrade is run, that way you know what type of issues you're most likely going to run into, can find the 'fix' for anything you encounter (some of which you may be able to do before you begin the 'live' upgrade) and you get a good estimate of how long it'll take to complete.

Very difficult question to answer as it is heavily dependant on the number of companies, size of databases and server resources.

I've recently done a couple of upgrades; one took an average 12 minutes per company, and the other an average of 30 minutes.
