Migrating between Environments

Working on a client project and so far everything going well. However now we have to push across our changes from DEV to TEST. It seems I can do this in a very manual fashion or preferably fully automated. The documentation around this is very limited and it would be useful to understand how this is best achieved. The items I would like to migrate include;

1. Personalizations

2. Custom Fields added

3. Set up and Master Data

4. Security roles
