Sales Tax Analysis Report (discrepancy)

Posted on by 5

Rms version 2.0.1004

Hi All,

Have a client running sales Tax Analysis report when adding the

Tax Exempt Sales, Taxable Sales and Total Tax Collected, together they come to €8845.20, but on the same report the Total Sales are €8858.20.??

This €8858.20 is what is the Total Sales on the detailed sales report.

This has only started to happen in the last month or so,

Any suggestions would be great

Thanks in advance

Andy

If I'm not mistaken the Department Tax reports are specific to customers using VAT which may be applicable to this customer. That may be a better fit for comparison purposes and if the discrepancy isn't occurring regularly it's likely transaction related if the updates have been applied and the issue persists please update this post or close it if you would Andy. Thank you.

RE: Sales Tax Analysis Report (discrepancy)

Any RMS customer presently conducting business involving credit cards due to PCI changes and EMV compliancy requirements by the lenders and the government should be minimally on RMS 2.0.2000. As all hotfixes after 2.0.2000 are now cumulative, once your customer is on 2.0.2000 add the latest  which I believe is HF 60 2.0.2022 and your upgrade is done. Any hotfix between 2.0.1004 that may be associated with report calculations would  be applied in this process and your customer would be current. That would be my first suggestion, my second suggestion would be if your customer is using VAT? Then perhaps the Department Sales Tax Inclusive report may prove a better fit as it includes all revenue and tax together while the Tax Analysis report is broken down to Sales to include taxable, non taxable items and tax exempt sales. If your looking for $13.00 you may want to review the transaction journals to find it or adding the z reports, as an amount that small is more likely associated with a transaction in March that is not accounted for than a report problem.
