MS Dynamics Report how to accept *.jpg files ?

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

G'day all,

Currently we have *.jpg images taken from our users iPhones and iPads stored in MS dynamics under Accounts > Notes. We have created a customer report in MS dynamics to display the notes of an account (Text and images) but have come across the following issue where by the Report module doesn't read *.jpg files.

Considering the following the report doesn't accept *.jpg images as per the article https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.reportingservices.reportrendering.image.mimetype.aspx

Also interesting to note that the report accepts *.jpeg files, since they are basically the same thing a *.jpg format just a different file extension..

What other options do we have to display *.jpg images in a report without converting the file type?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

MS Dynamics version = CRM Online 2016 Update 8.1.0.526

Regards Phil

    Hi Phil,

Jason posted the following which looks very similar to your question.  Jason's recommendation is to fix the type or replace the value.  Hopefully this is helpful for you.

In the following solution it seems as through the solution that the original image type was changed from .jpg to .png.

So it doesn't provide a solution for my situation.

    Hi Drew,

The file type in the recommendation is a *.jpeg not *.jpg which is what my developers are having difficulty with. So it hasn't worked.

Needing a solution for *.jpg file format as this is what the iDevices (iPhone and iPad) take on their cameras.
