Add conditional content after e-mail ready to send

Dear Support, 
 
I have created an e-mail campaign with conditional content and set the e-mail active "ready to send". Now when I want to add a new condition to the email, it's not possible, I can only use an already existing condition. This is very limited and would mean that every time I would like to add a new condition I have to create an new e-mail. Is there something I am doing wrong or not seeing? Is it possible to add new conditions after the email is live?

    Hi Velma,

    You’re not missing anything, that’s just how the system behaves right now. Once an email is marked ready to send, the conditional logic is locked, so you can’t add new rules on top of it.

    The only workaround I’ve seen is to clone the email, add your new condition in the draft, and then re-activate it. A bit clunky, but safer from a compliance/delivery point of view.

    If you find yourself doing this often, it helps to plan out all possible segments before switching the email to ready. I’ve made the same mistake a few times and learned the hard way that HubSpot/Dynamics wants you to treat that status as final.

    Hi Velma,

     

    This is expected behavior. Once an email is used in a live journey and has been sent at least once, it becomes locked and only limited edits are allowed. Adding new conditional content isn’t possible at that stage. To apply new conditions, you’ll need to create a new version of the email and use that in your journey.
