eMail addresses are removed when transferring order to invoice.

I just noticed that when I transfer a quote to an order or an order to an invoice, if there were email address entered they do not carry over to the transferred document. Is this how it was designed? Is there a way to get the email addresses to carry over to the transferred document?

    Hi Richard,

I'm using GP 2013 and SOP.  Isn't the email address for the customer pulled from the customer card at the time of order entry?  I transfer orders to invoices and email them everyday.   Is there a place in order entry you can change the email address?  I can't seem to find it.

If you use the email address on the customer address card they do stick. However, if you were to enter an email address on-the-fly for a customer that does not have an email address these new email addresses will not stick with the invoice.

I just tested this in GP 2016 R2 and see the same thing as Rich. Whether you have the email address saved on the customer or not, if you set/change it on the order, when it's transferred to an invoice it gets reset to what is defaulted on the customer/address.

Not sure if this is working as designed, but if so, certainly not optimal.

I figured out why I couldn't edit the email address on-the-fly in Order Entry.  It was grayed out because I didn't allow email options for Orders, only Invoices.
