Copy a Customer Price Group

I have multiple customer pricing groups setup for my customer. They want to copy the prices in that the customer pricing group to a new customer pricing group which they will make changes to and assign to a new customer. There are hundreds of items/prices in the price group. I know I can upload them with a config package but want users to be able to copy.

I do not yet have the new special pricing feature turned on yet for various reasons but that should not matter. I am trying to do the current experience from the following document

If you want to copy sales prices, such as an individual customer's sales prices to use for a customer price group, you must run the Suggest Sales Price on Wksh. batch job on the Sales Price Worksheet page.

  1. Choose the pastedimage1624913922263v1.png icon, enter Sales Price Worksheet, and then choose the related link.

  2. Choose the Suggest Sales Price on Wksh. action.

  3. On the Sales Prices FastTab, fill in the Sales Type and Sales Code fields with the original sales prices you want to copy.

  4. In the top section of the request page, fill in the Sales Type and Sales Code fields with the type and name you want the sales prices copied to.

  5. If you want the batch job to create new prices, select the Create New Prices check box.

  6. Choose the OK button to fill in the lines on the Sales Price Worksheet page with the suggested new prices, indicating that they are valid for the selected sales type.

This is what I see when I select Sales Price Worksheet

Then, suggest sales price on wksh

What is it meaning by fast tab - is this section the copy from or the copy too

Confused.

And can't seem to find where to see if the batch job ran - it never populated the worksheet

Any help appreciated

    Hi,

The key is that there are two sections of the Processing Report for Suggest Sales Price on Worksheet.

    pastedimage1625010895781v1.png

The bottom section is the filter for the Source of the new price suggestion (the Copy From) - i.e. what is the basis for the original price that you are using as the starting point. You can filter the Sales Type - click on Customer Group and set the Sales Code to "A". The Top Section is then what you are wanting to Copy-to so the client can create new Sales Prices based existing Sales Prices already configured.  Therefore, if a new Price Group B has been created and the plan is to generate Sales Prices for all of Customers in Price Group B, then the filter is to create Prices for Sales Price Group B based on Sales Price Group A existing Sales Prices.  The completed request Page may look something like this, where we are marking up all Price Group B prices by 20 percent, so the Factor is 1.2, using the existing A Prices with a the markup as the suggested new price for this new Price Group starting on 7/1/2021 and running through 12/31/2021.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks

    Tom

RE: Copy a Customer Price Group

    Hi Tom,

I have tons of special prices and customer price groups. I am a bit confused by the following as to what goes where

    1. On the Sales Prices FastTab, fill in the Sales Type and Sales Code fields with the original sales prices you want to copy.

    2. In the top section of the request page, fill in the Sales Type and Sales Code fields with the type and name you want the sales prices copied to.

What are they referring to as the Fast Tab - is that the top part of the screen? Because #2 then says in the top section. So, I am not sure where to put the Customer Price Group that I want to copy from. I want to copy from R1U10

    Hello LB Pgh,

Thank you for posting on the Forum.  Please confirm:  Do you currently have special Sales Prices in the Sales Price Table already entered for an established Price Groups or for Customers?

If you don't, then Using Suggest Sales Price on Worksheet won't show anything. It is used when you already have special pricing estalbished for a Sales Price Group and you want to adjust that Sales Price Group Table data for either the existing group or a new Sales Price Group using the already established Sales Prices in the Table.

If you have Item Cards with Sales Prices entered, then you will use the Suggest Item Price on Worksheet as the starting point, where you can use a Factor to build out the suggested prices for new Price Groups.

I may be missing something here, but with no data suggested in the worksheet, it seems to be the issue.

    Thanks

    Tom
