How to set a time limit for event registrations?

We are using D365 for Marketing for Event Management, and have set up the Event portal using the Angular template. We send out event invitations using Marketing Emails, and include the link to the event registration page. If the event end date passes, or if we cancel or unpublish the event, the event is no longer listed on the main page in the event portal. However - it is still possible to register for the event (even though the event is unpublished) by using the link included in the invitation email.

My question - how can we stop the possibility to register for an event if it is unpublished? Or is it possible to specify an end date, after which the event registration page is no longer accessible?

    Hi Adner,

I'm looking to talk to someone using angular for the event management. Would it be possible for you to spend some time to chat togather about it ?

    Thank you

Thanks! I will update to the latest version of the Event portal, and see if that solves the issue.

    Hi Adner,

This behavior is OOB. My environment is April 2019 update release and I hosted event website with D365 directly.

I'm not Angular developer, but sample website code for self hosting has been updated to June release, please check it.

    Regards,

    Clofly

    Hi Clofly,

Thanks a lot for your response. It seems to me that the behaviour you are describing is the behaviour that I would like to see. I am wondering if maybe this is a function in the event portal (the Angular app) this might be missing in my version. We built and deployed the event portal based on the Angular app source code that was available in December last year. Perhaps someone from the dev team can weigh in and answer whether this is indeed part of the portal code, and something that has been fixed since December?

    Hi Adner,

You could suggest the issue that it's still to register for event after event end date as a idea to Ideas forum.

In my demo, I tried to set Publish status to In progress and Cancelled, in both of situations the site will return me a registration failed notification and no records(leads and contacts) generated.

You could check whether records actually created when you set status to Cancelled.
