User A's changing of business date affecting transactions of user's B,C,D

Hello Community!

Hope you are doing well. For my part I have a very very strange intermittent situation happening in MS Dynamics SL 6.5.

We have customized code in the Invoice Print screen (BI.INV.00) that makes use of the Invoice Date field (cinvoice_date) to update the PJINVHDR.ih_id09 table field. Basically the invoice date field is used as a base to calculate an Invoice Due date that appears on our Invoice report. cinvoice_date is linked to PES.Today "table" field (i.e. the Solomon Business Date)

Today we had a user (User A) set their Business Date to a prior date in their SL instance and other users (Users B,C and D) in different instances of SL have their invoice due date show the same date as User A even though they had not changed their business date and that the cinvoice_date in Invoice Print screen showed today's date.

In short, one user's business date impacted other users' transactions even though these latter users' Business Date was set to the default of today's date. This problematic behaviour is intermittent.

How can one user's business date affect other users' transactions? Has anyone seen this before? How can we remedy this?

Hello Chad,

Thanks for your feedback. For the moment we will be creating event logs to record information on user and business date when the Invoice Print screen is used. Hopefully this will give us a better handle on the nature of the problem.

If anyone else has any other thoughts or comments please respond to this post. If we come to any conclusive answers we will post the pertinent information.

Hello,

I couldn't find any instance where this has been reported. While I don't have a 6.5 instance to test with currently, I know that when I change the business date in SL7 and SL 2011 nothing actually gets updated in the pes table in the SL system db. The business date is stored in memory and gets flushed out every time the user logs out and back in to SL. Basically, outside of your custom code, I don't think this can be reproduced in SL.
