How to migrate Report from dynamics NAV to Report Server

Posted on by 5

Hi,

My partner gave me a report file, it is done with Dynamics Nav for a vertical software. I have a TXT file with XML code and C/AL code and the .dll file too. I want to save it in the Reports Server and get the report from it.

I have to try to migrate the report to the visual studio. The Layout works but no the dataset. I can see the fields but when i try to execute it returns an error because it can't get the data.

Anyone know how to migrate? Or how to get tehe QUERY?

Thanks for your time.

Then you should be able to import the report object into you NAV database from the developer enviornment.

And they you must compile the object to be able to run the report.

A native NAV report does not require any DLL files unless some .net libraries are used in that spesific report. What you want to adjust or import the design in to Report builder is a RDL/RDLC  file.

Or are you using some kind of 3. party reporting solution?
