Transaction Volume in BC

Does anyone have experience with a customer that is processing about 500,000 invoices through the system a year in the cloud version for Business Central?  Curious on the experience, can it handle it.

I have the same question (0)

[Edit: I originally mis-read the question as 500,000 invoices per DAY. Oops.]

    Hi Tim, great question!

I don't know the answer, but I'm also very interested in learning if there are transaction volume limits for BC SaaS.

I've posted the question on Twitter to see if I can get some feedback:

500,000 invoices per YEAR is only about 42,000 invoices per month, or about 2,000 per week day.  If the invoices don't have many lines, I would hope that BC SaaS can easily handle that, assuming the customer doesn't have other requirements or complicating factors.

One thing to consider is that BC has a standard DB capacity of 80GB.  Apparently this is plenty for the vast majority of customers at this time, but after a few years, a high volume customer might need to purchase additional database capacity or archive old data.

    Hi All,

Funny this question came up about 4 months ago and based on my investigation with Microsoft I concluded that there are no published statistics. However, you can use the benchmark tool kit to create your own, but it is quite some effort I guess and I don’t know, if this can actually be run in production SaaS instances and sandboxes are very slow compared to the production environments. It would be great, if Microsoft would actually make those public.

Maybe Steve will find replies via Twitter.

    Thanks,

    Steve
