E-Mail Detail Entry Authorization

Ok so, for purchase order entry and in sales transaction entry I am having issues with the "E-Mail Detail Entry" button.

Whenever I click on the button a popup comes up that says "You don't have security privileges to open this window. Contact your system administrator for assistance."

For clarity. E-mail is set up. I can click on the send document button and it will send an email to the specified address in the card. I have searched online and can find no clear answer to this. Nothing talks about the security options for e-mail itself.

The problem is that nobody in the company knows what to do to give me or anyone else authorization to use the e-mail detail entry screen. Any help will be extremely appreciated. The GP guy for the company recently died (not joking) and he has not  been replaced yet.

    Glad it worked for you too.  Would be nice if Microsoft would have this type of information available in their system help or knowledge bases.  Glad at least they have this forum so that we can share information.

    I just figured this out for the Sales Detail Entry screen

    in Security Tasks, I choose a task that my Customer Service people all have, which is TRX_Sales_001.  Type is Windows, Series - Sales.  I check on Sales e-mail Setup and Sales e-mail Detail Entry.  I had one of my users test this and they no longer get the no security privileges message.  Hope this helps

    I am experiencing the same issue with the e-mail detail entry button in the Sales module.

    Power users have access, but my customer service people who would use this feature get the same security message.  I have looked through all the security tasks and do not find any related to e-mail.  We are using GP 2013.  Can anyone help?

    To get access to the "E-Mail Detail Entry" button on Purchase Order Entry screen you will need the "Purchasing E-Mail Detail Entry" security task assigned to your role. It can be found:

    Security Task Setup

    Product: Microsoft Dynamics GP

    Type: Windows

    Series: Purchasing

    I also think that the person with access to the "Purchasing E-Mail Setup" needs to have "Allow Update of E-mail at Entry" selected or you'll be able to open the Window but not update the email addresses.
