Multi value selection for report dialog parameters

ReportReport
Posted on by 1,307

Hi ,

I am doing a purely x++ AX report (not an SSRS report).

An enum is created to set random values (1,2,4,5,ALL) and added as a report parameter in the form of dialog field .

I am not able to select multiple values in the dialog like 1,2 or 4,5 or 1,4,5 or ALL

How to achieve this?

Thanks,

Lakshmi

That's correct - a single enum field can hold a single value. If you want something else, you'll have to choose a different implementation.

But if you allow multiple selections, the design of your enum will stop making sense. What's the point of selecting, 1 and ALL, for example? I thought you have "ALL" there exactly because users can't select all values...

Your examples suggests that you probably don't want to allow all combinations (such as 1 and ALL), but you never documented such a requirement. Let's make clear what want to achieve before selecting a technical solution.

    Hi Sukrut,

if you follow the article, at the end, the author forgot to add searchPromotion() method. Can you help me with that?

    Thanks,

    Lakshmi

    1Hi Sukrut,

I followed the tutorial and did create all the objects.

But when I am trying to execute, the below error message appears.

I have the registeroverridemethod twice  in my code because I am using lookups for those parameters.

I tried commenting super() but still the error appears.

    How to proceed further?
