Software Enhancements

Anyone ever send a suggestion to Microsoft on possible improvements/enhancements that they would like to see in the product?

If so, did you get any positive feedback and what is the procedure in doing so?

Thank you for posting your question to the forum. A long while ago there was an email address and also at one point a link partners and customer could submit ideas for the Dynamics SL and the other ERP solutions. However, since the main focus of Microsoft is building out D365 , these have been deactivated.

Now, an enhancement is typically sent to support via a support case, many partners have direct emails they have picked up over the years or if you are looking to be at this years SL User Group event, you can share your idea with the SL community there. The SL product manager will be there along with a Microsoft Support representative.

The process, once the idea is submitted it is pretty straight forward. The idea is reviewed on a high level on the level of benefit it would add to the product. Basically if the enhancement will benefit a large or small group of customers. This will not make of break the idea, just determine if it a better enhancement, looked at something better covered by a 3rd party or if it is something able to be achieved by a customization.

If the idea makes it past this level, then it is a matter of determining the level of effort to add it to the product. For example the integration of Inventory to Project, this was a huge undertaking and had to be rolled into a full version vs. a CU.

I hope that helps. There is no guarantee on if a new idea/enhancement will be added to SL. I do know our product manager is always looking for ways to improve SL.
