How to automate email with GP

We would like to be able to automate emails of sales invoice once it is created within GP. I have configured email setup and tested with no issue but unable to determine how to setup automation of invoices. Anyone have experience with this in GP?

    I suspect the e-mail function hasn't been completely set up. Here's the quick and dirty.

    1. Go to Administration | System Preferences and check your e-mail type. If you change this, you must restart Dynamics. If you are using MAPI, you MUST be using the 32 bit version of Outlook:

    2. Administration | Setup | Company | Email Settings

    Select the document types and whether you want to embed or attach them. Then click on the Sales Series zoom

    3. Enable the documents you want to use for sales, be sure to check the two buttons at the bottom and then click on the Customer Setup button.

    4. The customer Navigation List will open. Select a customer and the Customer Maintenance window will open.

    5. Click the Email Button and the Customer Email Options window will open. Make your selections on that window and click the OK button.

    6. Back on the Customer Maintenance window, click the World icon next to the address ID

    7. Enter the appropriate email addresses at the top of the Internet Information window. You can add the information for more address IDs on this window. You can do a lot on this window, but I won't complicate things. Save and close the window.

    8. Now, create a receivables transaction and you will see both of your e-mail buttons are active.

    I believe we want to automate sending of receivable invoices once they are generated. Currently, our clerk goes in manually and prints to PDF from GP and then emails them from Outlook. Odd related issue, the email icon within the window where clerk prints, is grayed out but not email to text option.

    What do you mean by automation? Out of the box you can click the e-mail button and off it goes. Do you want to run it on a schedule such that all of the emails are sent at night, or at some other time?
