Ive got a Excel spreadsheet which queries the CRM database and need to add in another user to the query.

Many thanks in advance

    however James,

If you want to follow the path of trying to track your users in the SQL tables, have an outlook into the SQL database on your server that starts with the name of your company (most of the time, when CRM is installed, people use the suggested DB name provided by the setup, which includes the company name).

There is a table called 'SystemUserId'... it will hold the information you're looking for with the AD UID. The table ResourceId will also show your the user's name in clear text, so that will help you to pinpoint the 'real' user behind a UID string... don't think you're going to find the network login name anywhere in the tables.

    Good luck.

    Hi James,

I fear this will be pretty tough... reason is that CRM (4.0 and also all other versions) is using the AD authentication from the windows network, thus the user-ID that is stored in most tables will be the lengthy UID from AD... The same is true for the Business Portal of Dynamics GP, which relies on the free SharePoint version and authenticates the user only against the AD.

    Hi James,

This is the GP forum; you'd have much better luck reposting in the CRM one.
