Limit viewing of account and related records within a business unit

Hi All

Say if there are two types of account records ( Type 1 and Type 2 ) being created in the system within a single business unit.  They 'Type 2' record should not be visible to set of users in the same business unit. 

Is this feasible without creating another business unit. ?

Was thinking of creating a new team and provide security role that only give user level privilege across all entities. Then assign all the users to this team who should not see the type 2 records and lastly assign the type 1 account records to this new team. 

Is there any other way if we have to work within a single business unit scenario?

    Hi harshpajg,

    The first suggestion is to create business units for both types and configure owning a business unit of records and privileges of the security roles.

    The second is not a suggested way but still, you can do this. I am considering only two scenarios but you need to consider all: (Note: You can handle the validation by creating a column on the user table or assigning security roles to the user.)

    1. For the home screen. Write a plugin on the retrieve multiple messages. Only show records associated with the user.
    2. On the load of the form. Write a JavaScript on the download of the form. Only show records associated with the user. Otherwise, throw an error.

    Again it is not a recommended way or can say supported way.
