Hi! I want to run replenishment planning for a production warehouse. What status does the production order need to be in for master planning to see it as a requirement? In Created status will planning pick up that the production floor requires those materials>

I want to create a planned Transfer order from the bulk warehouse to the production warehouse

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

Master planning will see a requirement for component items when picking list journal is generated for a production order. Note that you have an option to generate picking list automatically at Start and RAF steps or manually at any time.

    Hi Antigonie,

The replenish request will be triggered when picking list journal created.

    Regards,

    Hi Humphrey!

So is it not possible to have the production order in the created status and create the requirement then? I want to be able to run masterplanning and pick up the production orders. Then from that create a transfer order to have the raw materials moved from the Bulk warehouse to the production floor?

    Hi Antigonie

The status have to be "calculated" or more. A production order in status created is not creating demand for raw material replenishment in masterplanning.

    Hi Christian,

When you say "Calculated" status  , what do you mean?

Do you have any ideas how i could get it to create demand at that point? If i have it scheduled?

Antigonie, yes it is possible. All you have to do is to create picking list journal for a production order (View tab/Journals/Picking list/Create lines/Enter quantity of FG item and then OK. System will generate picking list based on BOM for that FG item.

When picking list is created, you will see inventory transactions for all component items in the BOM. These transactions will have a status of "on order".  This is the demand for master planning. Once you execute planning, system should generate supply to fulfill this demand, in your case planned transfer order from bulk warehouse.

Thanks for this Oleksiy. Just wanted to ask, once i have generated the picking list, and the Transfer order arrives to the Production warehouse, do i then post that picking list to show that it has been picked? Im just confused now because the picking will be done in the Bulk whs for the Transfer Order. So would the whs post the picking journal?

Antigonie, yes, you will have to post picking list for items to be consumed into production order. I understand your confusion, there are 2 picks in your scenario: one for production order via picking list journal posting and another for transfer order to ship items from Bulk warehouse.

So i would generate my picking list on my production order, which will create demand in planning. Planning will run, create the TO between the two warehouses(where picking will happen there to- but a different picking as it will be using wms). Then once i receive my items into my production warehouse i will then post the picking list that i itinually created on my production order?

Also, once i post my picking list on my production order, does that mean all my raw materials are consumed at that point?

Sorry for all the questions, i am new to dynamics and You have really been so helpful!
