Sizing barcode to fit label

I am using the RMS label designer to create a 1.25 X 1 label to print on a Zebra LP 2824 Plus.  Our items ID is a 9 digit numeric using 128B barcode and when I set the barcode field width to the fit on the label (1.18") it prints only to approximately 2/3 width of the label and will not scan. As I increase the field width there is no change until 2.88" and then prints off the label.

Has anyone else seen this problem and found a fix?

RE: Sizing barcode to fit label

    Richard,

We at RITE Enterprises Inc. have developed an add-on for RMS called RITE Label and it has the ability to customize your labels with additional features and spec that Standard RMS does not allow.

RITE Label monitors your database for new products and price changes. When any of these events occur then RITE Label can be set to automatically print out price labels, shelf tags or signage.

    • Automatically print sale signs and tags
    • Automatically print price tags or shelf labels for new product
    • Customizable label formats
    • Saves time and payroll spent on updating price tags and labels

Additional details of the software and pricing can be found here at our site.

Plus if you find that this may work for you we can set up a time for a demo and let you see the software in action.

Unfortunately, 128C will only work with an even number of digits. If you try an odd number of digits it will truncate back to an even number.  The customer had a different printer using hand coded label design and it printed the full width of the label and the scanner had no trouble reading it.

You are using a very small label size.  You may have to either use a larger label or try another barcode to decrease the size.  I used 128C for an 8 digit numeric code which did work on a small label.
