Allow CRM to Send Emails

I have recently configured CRM emails through an email router for our company's CRM online spring '14 version and emails from users to clients have been being automatically added to activities and associated with contact which is helpful, but CRM itself seems unable to send out emails. For example, an activated workflow; one involves sending out an email to a user once a field is changed, and the status stays at "sending" - also an alert comes up that says "this has not yet been submitted to send..". All emails are enabled and the router clearly works from the other emails that have come through CRM- I'm just looking for a way to make emails send directly out of CRM. Thanks!

    Hi Jean,

    It appear the problem will be with your workflow..

    You may want to look at the configuration of your email properties in the workflow ...

    Did you configure it to always send to a particular user ? Or have you used dynamics values?

    Can you provide a screen shot of your workflow which may help to understand the issue

    look like your incoming profile works. how did you config and tested the outgoin profile:

    support2.microsoft.com/.../2708706

    when you go to CRM web client and create an email, can you send it. do you get any error message? it could be a problem with the recipient.

    if you manage to send it though the web client than the problem is with the workflow

    Hello Jean,

    As per your description I would first suggest you to check you workflow and if still you are still getting the status as sending check the email router if you are getting any kind of error there or not, Also check if normal emails are going out from CRM . Such that you can narrow down if Normal emails are not sent from CRM  than their is some problem in your Email Router.

    The workflow is configured to always send to one particular user. the outgoing profile is configured through the email router with our company's exchange online settings and was tested successfully. There are no error messages in the email router and emails sent between users are successfully being recorded as activities in CRM- it's just the ability to send emails directly from CRM that seems to be not working, including normal emails. I don't get any error messages either- I will attempt to send to another user to see if the issue is with the particular user the workflow is attempting to send the email to. Thanks for all the suggestions!

    What exactly is CRM web client? I'm not sure we have that in our system. Also, when dealing with CRM email do all users have to be on the same type of setting, as in all CRM for Outlook or all Email Router, or can they be a mix of both?
