Hi.  We have a number of items setup as product type=Service, Inventory model = FIFO, Stocked product = YES.  Is there some way that we can make the unit cost mandatory for these item on receipt?  With our standard cost products receipting is not allowed is the unit cost is ZERO.

    Hi James,

    With these settings there is no option to have the cost price mandatory. To achieve this requirement you have to do a customization.

    You could put in a cost so low that it's meaningless.  Like 1 cent per 10,000.  That is, so long as your finance dept. is okay with it.

    I assume you mean from Purchase order receipt? You could use purchase price trade agreements, so that AX is automatically populating a price on the purchase order line, but as André says, it is not possible to ensure the user's don't overwrite that with 0.00. And even if you did a simple customisation, what's to stop them using 0.01?
