Workflow without e-mail

Is it possible to configure GP's workflow engine without e-mail?  I have a site that has had some challenges when it comes to connecting GP to e-mail which has gone through some extensive troubleshooting.  This is GP2016R2.

Please advise.  Look forward to a response.

    Hi JG, 

    Yes, it is possible to use workflow within GP without needing to enable the email functionality. Email is only required for workflow if you want users to be able to approve/reject/delegate workflows via the email. The process does require Web Services to be installed as well. Workflow doesn't rely on email functionality to work; however, emails do make the process a bit more streamlined.

    If you don't have email or Web Services setup, then you can still log into GP and approve/reject/delegate workflows from the desktop client. Some people use the Web Client version of GP specifically for this reason.
