Hello experts, recently we encountered this following problem:
A client required to use the shared mailbox to synchronize information between Outlook and Dynamics CRM, but they don't want to use the online Outlook mailbox (which the domain name is @companyA.onmicrosoft.com), as they have already their own mailboxes and they have limited licences for the Office 365 package. So we created a shared mailbox by using a sales agent's mailbox, which has a different domain name (@companyA.com), as well as a queue in Dynamics to implement this generic email address. After making sure we have done Test and Enabled Mailbox for the Shared Email Box and have set Incoming and Outgoing Email as Server-Side Synchronization, we found out that the shared mailbox cannot receive any external emails, only internal emails with the '@companyA.onmicrosoft.com' domain name. On the other hand, we can send emails to external receivers.
Can a shared mailbox only be created by using the onmicrosoft domain name? Or is a problem of different servers?
PS: According to the information in Settings- Email configuration, both the Incoming Email Status and Outing Email Status are success.
The server profile is Microsoft Exchange online.
Thank you for your help!
Regards,
Yi
