Multiply Sales locations in BC

Hi, we are having few sales locations. I can see that I can setup locations linked to inventory in BC, but don't see how I can post Sales  linked to those locations. Is it possible post sales for different locations and have also separate P&L reports for each location?

I have the same question (0)

You can setup your postings for the different locations with the same G/L account in the Inventory Posting Setup.

No, in our case it’s retail locations, so will be many customers in different locations. Perhaps dimension will be best bet to track

If you are talking about Sales account, you can't really set it up based on Location. It is only based on your Customer. If one customer is one location, you can make use of the General Business Posting Group (GBPG) to post to different accounts. You can create GBPG for Domestic, International, etc and use the posting group combination to post to different sales account.

If you can sell one customer to multiple locations, dimension is probably easier.

Thank you for help! Make sense. For G/L I mean that I can’t separate G/L for locations I guess, so all sales will be total from all locations but using dimensions I can separate in reports. If I understand correctly

For P&L, dimension is a good option.

The Location should be there on the Sales Invoice. If not, it is probably hidden. Use Personalize to show it.

Not sure if I understand your GL question correctly.

Depending whether you use G/L, item, resource, fixed asset, or Item Charge, BC will use the posting group to post to the correct G/L accounts. It will be based on the posting group combination. Combination A will hit GL account 1000, combination B goes to 2000, etc.

I guess dimension will be good option for P&L reporting. I just tried create sales  invoice but don’t see fields for locations. Plus my understanding it will be posted to one G/L account only ?

Why can't you use the standard inventory location with Sales ? You should be able to use the Location on your sales order to sell your inventory or resources.

Other option is to create a new dimension called SALESLOCATION and use that.
