Hi All

Has the integration between D365FO PMA and MS Project been deprecated? Is it still possible to automatically update an MS Project plan from a WBS in D365FO and vice-versa?

I have seen videos of this working n AX2012 but don't see it anywhere in the current release.

I have the same question (0)

    Hello Miller,

When you open a project and go under PLAN tab

you should find an option that says

"Open in Microsoft Project" under "Activities".

    Hello Miller,

The following MS docs site describes the MS project integration for D365FO

    docs.microsoft.com/.../project-integration

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Thank you Ludwig

I've tested this but it appears that there are a number of bugs with the 2-way interface.

    1. Projects do not open automatically - D365FO just opens MS project then you need to sign in and open the project from within MSP.

    2. Username & password is not remembered between each open/close/open sequence so you need to enter them every time.

    3. Categories are not pushed through into the MS Project plan - they are created as custom fields but not populated with D365FO categories. This is a significant defect.

    4. Same for project team roles.

    5. Categories are often 'lost' when you check a plan back in - the sync seems to lose (blank out) the categories in D365FO.

:-( Doesn't feel to me a though this is quit ready for launch yet?

    Hello Miller,

I have not used the MS Project integration with D365FO myself yet. Cannot comment on those 'issues'. I would thus recommend that you open a support case with Microsoft to get this fixed.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

it would be better to try MS Project online using either or project plan1,3,5

cloud to cloud connections are always better
