HOW CAN I SETUP ACCOUNT_1(4 DIGIT) FOR FINANCE MODULE IN DYNAMICS GP.

I am working on development of some new customization under Dynamics GP finance Module. i am looking to setup ACCOUNT_1 for 4 digit as by default it is 3. the related tables of finance module is GL00100(Master table).

You can change the account structure in Microsoft Dynamics GP menu >> Tools >> Setup >> System >> Account Format

You can only increase the size of segments within the maximums defined when GP was implemented.

If you need to expand beyond the maximum, as was defined when GP was installed, you will need to purchase The Reformatter from www.crgroup.com.

Reformatter is just like every other GP ISV product. You will install the code into your GP program directory on the server and then include the chunk file. You will then have menu options for Reformatter where you can expand the GL account segment structure to whatever you need. This is why when I install GP I always choose 64 x 8. This way my clients can expand into it as needed and there is no need for Reformatter.
