Hi,
We have in our process of production that some parts are not right and need to return to the vendor. We unpick those, change status en bring them to the return area so that a PO RMA can be created. On the production floor they want to use new items at that point in time and we would expect that releasing the production order again would create new work to pick the material from the warehouse. However, from LCS we understand that we also need to remove the BOM line and recreate that line. Which might cause problems in acuate setup and consisency of BOM's.
Maybe our process is wrong. So how do you get new material on the production floor once material has to move out of the production area?
Microsoft answers this is by design and a 2 step method is to be done?
J.
When you update a production order BOM line inventory transaction issue status back from "Picked" to "Reserved physical", the WHSPRodBomPOOL table isn't updated correctly.
Microsoft has evaluated this issue, and has determined that this functionality is working as designed.
When you unpick and remove the reservation out of warehouse management process, the outcome of production pick work has been deleted. The system doesn’t have visibility into the process and it can’t update WHSProdBOMPool table out of warehouse management process. Hence no new work will be created again for the production BOM line.
There is a workaround:
Delete the production BOM line once after un doing the reservation and create a new BOM line for it.

Hi Ulti,
You can allocate new parts if required to do so on the works order not putting the status back to released.
Open the current works order to create additional picking list journal with old item - 0 consumption and tick end tick box on the line to stop consumption of it.
Open the same works order BOM and create additional line with new item to be consumed.
Do a test in test environment first if you are unsure.
Kind Regards
