Single rate for date range importing exchange rates

Anyone knows how this checkbox is used? I can't change the value, why? If I could change the value, which exchange rate would be imported for the range? The most recent?

Thanks!

Hi CapsLock, Please see below. Notice how the field is greyed out (same as your).

Seems to be an issue with the value change in "import as of" field... once i change it back to today and then change back to date range, allowed to change the single rate for exchange rate. field gets locked if you run the import, change back the import as of... or sometimes date and this will get enabled.

Now why would you enabled this check box.. see below:

Set the singleRateForDateRange property to true if the service can return a single rate that represents the whole date range. For example, you can use this setting to return a single exchange rate that represents the average exchange rate for a month. If the service doesn’t support this functionality, set this property to false.

    Hi Satish,

Many thanks for your explanation. Let me check that I understood it correctly.

So, if I import exchange rates with the following parameteres/criteria:

D365 will take all exchange rates provided by the CBE during that range, calculate the average and enter that single value for the entire period. Is that correct?

When you say "the service", what do you mean? The provider in this case CBE?

    Hi CapsLock,

I have not used and tested this parameter in detail but would expect that either the first or the last exchange rate is imported and used for the range specified.

I don't think that an average is calculated and used.

Can you test that in a demo / test environment?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hello Ludwig,

I tested this in 10.0.10 and found that it does not import just one date for the range.  The range being 3/1/2020 to 3/31/2020, it imported every currency day in the month but it included the 28th of February as well.

The Exchange rate type prior to import:

However, I did find this page that states you must implement the 'GetSupportedOptions'.  See the article below.
